Understanding Eyelid Lift

Blepharoplasty addresses hooding of the upper lid and puffiness or hollowing of the lower lid — often the first visible sign of facial aging. The result is a refreshed, alert appearance that remains entirely true to the patient's natural eye shape.

  • Upper lid skin hooding that affects the eyes' appearance or vision
  • Under-eye bags or hollowing
  • Fine wrinkling of the lower lid
  • A tired appearance despite adequate rest

Upper and/or lower blepharoplasty performed under local anesthesia with sedation, often combined with fat repositioning rather than removal.

Sutures removed at 5 to 7 days; bruising typically resolves within 10 to 14 days.

Will this change my eye shape?

No — the goal is conservative skin and fat refinement that preserves your natural eye shape and expression.

Is a brow lift needed too?

Sometimes brow ptosis mimics upper lid hooding; this is assessed carefully during consultation.

How long is the incision visible?

Incisions are placed within the natural eyelid crease and typically fade to be imperceptible.
